Both the label and the matrix are exactly identical to the ''normal'' release, proving this a British Vertigo pressing without any doubt. The cover is very different, though: it comprises an excerpt of the cover of the debut album, framed in a mixture of psychedelics and jugendstil. Bottom right there is the notion: Special Edition, just above the swirl logo, which is pink. The back cover shows liner notes both in German and French, as well as an ad for four other albums: 1 Vertigo, 1 Mercury, and 2 Island LP's. In Germany, France and Switzerland, Island releases were licensed to Philips (and provided with a a typical Phonogram catalogue number too, like 6339 026 for ILPS 9132 to give a random example) We have indeed received the information that this issue was made for a Swiss bookclub.... The cover is laminated only on the frontside. |
